Come celebrate with us the 20 year musical journey of the Men of the West “at the hall where it all began

About

Launched at the Fairbridge Festival in April 2004, as The Spooky Men of the West by Stephen Taberner (The Spooky Men’s Chorale): a black-clad, boofy, behatted behemoth of blokes who sing. Led by several inspiring local directors, the group morphed into The Men of the West in 2016.

The choir have been much loved regulars at WA festivals and Songfests picking up awards at the Perth and Adelaide Fringe festivals with fine a cappella singing of pointless grandeur, magnificent manhomerie and poignant pathos, in repertoire ranging from the haunting beauty of ancient Georgian table songs to curiously entertaining covers and memorable originals.

The Men will be supported by our wonderful special guests, Radujsja..

Radujsja (Rejoice!) is a 5-voice a cappella ensemble specialising in Eastern European folk music from Georgia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia and beyond.

Thrill to the dissonance and asymmetric rhythms, at first strange to the ear, of the fascinating vocal styles offered by this group.
